What to do?

In a Hospital:

If the death occurs in hospital, is the very institution to contact the relatives. After that should contact immediately an Mortuary agency, even before you go to the hospital in order to start the process of funeral and avoid less pleasant, especially with regard to identification of the body.

The hospital will then be contacted by the Agency Mortuary, duly authorized by the family to deal with all procedures relating to registration of death, the local authorities.

The Mortuary agency shall declare the occurrence of death, including the register or competent Civil Police of Public Security.

In homes for elderly

The death occurred in a home or a nursing home, is the very institution to contact the relatives. Upon notification of death, should contact immediately an Mortuary agency in order to initiate the process of the funeral.

With the agreement between the Agency and Mortuary family or someone appointed for this purpose, the institution should be contacted in order to inform the Agency for which funeral service.

Then the contracted Mortuary agency handle the whole process.

Elsewhere:

The death occurred following a road accident, suicide, drowning, crime, etc ..., should be addressed to the competent authority (PSP and GNR) of the area where the occurrence took place. This immediately notify the authority to place health and prosecutors in the area where the death occurred.

In such cases it is decreed by law, an autopsy examination of the body of the deceased. The family should then contact an Mortuary agency, because this will be informed by the authorities of the date and time of completion of the autopsy and should keep the family informed during the process.
